The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has developed a program to help meet the needs of potential users of geospatial technologies. It seeks to join the missions of the NASA Office of Earth Science and NASA Space Grant with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The program seeks to implement a Geospatial Extension Specialist in every state within the Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service of a Land Grant University. The Specialist then characterizes the needs of the different constituencies in the state and works with them to design solutions that meet their informational needs within their budget and staffing constraints.

Nebraska’s Geospatial Extension Program

Nebraska’s Geospatial Extension Program is a result of a partnership between University of NE at Omaha (which houses Space Grant) and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (the Land Grant University).

Nebraska’s program is located within the Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
